About This Course

This course is designed to offer you an entry point into your literary heritage with its great multiplicity of texts. You will study the major literary modes of narrative, lyric, and drama, and engage in synthesizing ideas through writing and discussion based on a range of literature representative of a variety of cultures and literary forms. We will read texts from a range of time periods, historical perspectives, and styles, including both Western and non-Western cultures.
