Flanner O' Connor Comic by John Campbell

  1. I found this comic interesting and it led me to read more about Flannery O’Connor. While researching, I found out that her died had lupus as well and died when O’Connor was fifteen. So this is where she got lupus because it is hereditary. I was also interested in the part that talked about birds. It’s true! She first became famous for teaching a chicken to walk backwards. She said her success ever since then has been an anticlimax. How sad to have written wonderful stories about the realism in religion and to not be excited about their successful selling. I think O’Connor had a lot of problems in life. Not that she was cynical but her dad died when she was in her teens and that left her with only her mom. Her only interest was birds and she wasn’t very proud of her works. To cap it off she got lupus and died as well.

  2. Yeaaaah, i thought it was funny that she admitted she didn't think her life was worth writing a book about. It was kind of modest of her to say so and partly true. I think she's interesting as a person, maybe not so much her entire life. Other people have had far more riveting lives than her.
